Designed by William Dean the Class 2721 Open Cab Pannier Tank Engines first entered service in 1897. Seventy-nine of this class of locomotives were built between 1897 and 1901. The last Locomotive of the Class was withdrawn from service in 1950.
The Pannier Tank Locomtives are the most distinctive and unique of the 0-6-0 GWR Locos.
