This Coach comes without a Box
The British Railways’ Crimson and Cream livery first appeared in 1951. This livery rapidly gained the nickname ‘Blood & Custard’. The term 'Carmine' was often incorrectly used following an error made by a contemporary Railway journalist and is, unfortunately, occasionally still used!
