Taken from the Hornby 'Sheffield Pullman' Set this loco comes without a Box.
This is a LIMITED EDITION Locomotive. Only 2000 were made. The Locomotive comes with a numbered Limited Edition Certificate of Authentication.
It also comes with all detail fittings.

This superb train is inspired by the very popular but short lived Sheffield Pullman train which first went into service in 1924. This well equipped train with its luxurious Pullman cars would carry business men on a week day basis between London, Kings Cross and South Yorkshire. This wonderful Hornby locomotive recreates those wonderfully opulent days of train travel and features the Nigel Gresley designed A1 locomotive in the LNER livery of the period.

The 'Doncaster' A1 Locomotive entered service in August 1924, was rebuilt in May 1946, and was not withdrawn from service until September 1963.

 Class A1 locomotives were designed under the guidance of Sir Nigel Gresley, Chief Mechanical Engineer for the Great Northern Railway (GNR), later to become London North Eastern Railway (LNER). The class comprised a total of 52-members, all built at Doncaster Locomotive Works. One member of the class, “Flying Scotsman”, is the world’s most famous locomotive.
